About Ron

Ron Stacy’s involvement with art has been a life-long dedication. Born in Vancouver BC in 1943, Ron was always interested in the arts. He joined the army engineers and trained as a “training aids artist” until his honourable discharge in 1965. After that he worked as a sign writer, graphic designer and illustrator. In 1987, on Vancouver Island, surrounded by the art of the northwest coast natives, he began to paint his impressions of this amazing artform and sophisticated culture. His unique treatment of this subject brought him both accolades and censure. In 1998 Ron decided to take a break from the world of galleries to further develop his skills.

Ron began teaching art classes in Victoria and Sidney. He wrote a book about colour and donated much of his time to the development of ‘The Arts and Cultural Highway’ with Karl Schutz, as well as helping initiate the ‘Sidney Fine Art Show’. His evolution in painting then led him to explore the essential character of the west coast in a series he calls the ‘Old Salts’. His latest series called ‘Ravenkind’, is an exploration of humankind disguised as magical ravens. These images will eventually be compiled in a coffee table book with Ron’s insights, revelations and nonsense.

After a move in 2008 to Summerland BC, Ron is teaching art classes in the Okanagan Valley.

Ron’s book entitled “The Secret World of Colour” is available only from Stacy Studios or on his website at  Click here

      Hi Drew
Sorry to take so long to get back to you. I never knew you wrote until my wife just told me. I do have one; an artist’s proof that I framed several years ago for display. It has a double mat and an aluminum frame and is priced at $375.
      Thanks for your interest,

  4. Nice portrait – except you are more jolly than that. Beautiful art, keep on keeping on, Dan
