Authors and Artists (Penticton)

Posted in Ron's World of Art on October 24, 2010 by stacystudios

A one day show of local authors and artists. Ron Stacy is both! Some of his paintings will be on display while he demonstrates his techniques. His book “The Secret World of Colour” is a very comprehensive yet easy to read and follow instructional piece.
Stacy is currently working on a new book called “Ravenkind” an illustrated coffee table book of paintings, myths and philosophy.

The 2010 Authors & Artists Christmas Faire will be held at the Penticton Lakeside Resort. For those who missed the event last year, this is not a craft faire but something a little different. Bringing together writers and artists from all over the Okanagan, and a little beyond, this event showcases their finest works of literary and visual art.

From original paintings to prints and art cards, from sculptures and carvings to autographed books, there is something for every taste and budget. The event runs from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Admission is free and there will be door prize draws every hour starting at 10:00 am.

Sidney Fine Art show

Posted in stuff and such on October 14, 2010 by stacystudios

Well, here we are on the ferry, looking at an amazing sunset in sky blue-pink-yellow- green. Wow! It’s good to be back on the ocean. We will be taking in the annual Sidney Fine Art Show and seeing all our artist friends including Betty who has 2 paintings in the show.
Back in 2003, Ron was part of a committee of dedicated art enthusiasts who made this show a reality. Now the 8th annual Sidney Fine Art show is in full swing. We’re looking forward to a good strong dose of FINE ART, ahhhh, it’s good to be back in the land of culture.

The Show, which is run by the Community Arts Council of the Saanich Peninsula (CACSP), is not for profit and run totally by volunteers – over 300 of them who, together, will work over 4,000 hours on the Show.

This year, In total, 512 artists submitted over 1,200 pieces of art, and the jurors selected the best 388 pieces, representing the work of 246 artists, for the Show.
