LEARN TO PAINT WITH ACRYLIC the most versatile paint ever invented!

If you’ve already taken this class, maybe you would like to recommend it. Or, you might be a painter already who knows someone who would like to learn to paint. Ron has taught this class for many years on the Island and has hundreds of students who loved it, even some who have gone on to become amazing painters.

Ron’s Acrylic painting class begins January 31 at the Shatford Centre in Penticton

It runs 8 weeks, Tuesday evenings from 7 pm to 9:30 pm.

This is an amazing class, designed for beginners, but with so much information that even accomplished painters can learn from it.

Wine, Art and all that Jazz

The Summerland Seniors Village was host to an evening of Art, Wine and Jazz. Featuring well known local singer Gillian Russel, and Larry Crawford’s jazz trio – what a great sound they have!

I sold a painting titled “Dance” to a very nice lady, which was quite a surprise as I didn’t expect any sales. She just fell in love with my work and loved the color and feeling of the piece.

New work for Artwalk

Ron is working on some new paintings of Okanagan paddle wheelers and tugs. He just completed a picture of the SS Naramata coming home in the dark. It has a slice of moon illuminating the scene. Being a dark painting makes it difficult to photograph, but here it is…

Marcia has completed several new paintings all 12″ square or smaller. below is one, called Rhapsody in Blue…

Lake Country Artwalk takes place Sept 10 and 11 in Lake Country (formerly known as Winfield) just north of Kelowna.

It’s the largest art show in the Okanagan Valley, and well worth a visit. Ron will be introducing his latest series of paintings featuring the old boats of the Okanagan, including sternwheelers and tugs.

Living the Creative Life

People say I live a creative life. I would have to agree since I spend most of every day creating something… painting, making jewellery, sewing doll clothes, writing articles like this one, inventing characters that will become art dolls, creating graphic design for Stacy Studios’ self promotion, making display sets for photographing articles to post for sale on the internet, etc. etc. etc…

I am obsessed with making fine art dolls and doll clothes. Dolls are magical! Dolls are filled with fantasy! It”s as if a moment in time is captured, making you wonder if they wake up at night and dance, tell stories, do their chores, dream their dreams and fight their causes!

Imagine the scene as they interact in the silence of the night, when the moon is full and the world is asleep!

My art dolls are completely hand made with every detail painstakingly and lovingly created by me!

There are no purchased heads, hands, shoes, clothing or accessories, just the raw materials; silks, beads and polymer clay!

You can see three of these dolls at the Shatford Centre’s newest art show, “Living the Creative Life” until Sept 11, 2011
